Paper Options

Paper choice is fundamental to good postcard design. Here are all our standard paper options.

10pt Cover

10pt is lightweight card stock that is noticeably thinner than 14pt. 10pt can be ordered as uncoated or with a premium finish on one or both sides.

14pt Cover

14pt is the standard for postcards. You can order 14pt as uncoated or with a premium finish on one or both sides.

18pt Cover

18pt is noticeably stiffer than 14pt paper. Like 10pt and 14pt, it can be ordered as uncoated or with a premium finish on one or both sides.

NOTE : 4" x 6" postcards on 18pt are too heavy for the First Class Postcard rate. They must be mailed at the Standard rate instead.

Finishing Options

A paper’s finish can make all the difference when it comes to the way your finished product looks, feels, and functions. Uncoated papers, for example, are perfect for writing.

Here are all the standard finishing options for our postcards so you can decide what works best for your project.

Gloss

Gloss

A slightly reflective, smooth finish that makes colors pop. Most ballpoint pens can write on gloss coating.

High Gloss

High Gloss

A highly reflective finish the produces vibrant colors. High gloss can be written on with some permanent markers if needed.

Matte

Matte

A satin finish that makes colors slightly muted while enhancing readability. Matte coating can be written on with rollerball pens.

Soft Touch

Soft Touch

A luxuriously soft finish that makes colors slightly less muted than matte. Rollerball pens and some permanent markers can write on soft touch coating.

Uncoated

Kraft

A bright white paper without any coating that makes text easy to read. Uncoated papers can be written on with anything that can leave a mark (pencils, pens, markers, etc.).
